Getting Started
The Performance Evaluation
Until an athlete knows his or her current level of ability, it is impossible to realistically create goals and monitor progress.
The Performance Evaluation is critical to every athlete in our program for 4 main reasons:
- Assesses the current level of an athlete's ability.
- Allows for proper grouping of the athlete in our program.
- Allows for the proper exercise prescription to be developed.
- Allows us to record and monitor progress while in our program.
STEP 1: EVALUATION
Every athlete begins with a mandatory performance evaluation.
- The 10 and 40 yard dash
- The Vertical Jump
- The Pro-Agility (5/10/5)
- The 5 Broad Jump Test
- The Chin Up Test
STEP 2: REVIEW RESULTS
Immediately after the evaluation, our testing expert will discuss the results, and explain which
program is the best for your athlete according to his or her needs. The results will also be scored to rank your athlete in our cat club
ranking system.
STEP 3: SELECT A PROGRAM
We use the information from the evaluation to assess and group your athlete into
the appropriate training program. The Parisi Speed School has different training programs available for your athletes' age and
abilities. Depending on their athletic needs the proper training program will be recommended that will ensure the athlete's
individual needs are met and improve their form and technique individually.
Speed Classes
Change of Direction - The ability to accelerate, decelerate, stop, and reaccelerate in any direction without losing speed or balance.
Acceleration - The ability to reach maximum speed in the shortest amount of distance and time possible.
Top Speed - The ability to maintain maximum speed for the duration of the sprint, using maximum stride length and maximum stride frequency.
