Brian Martin, C.S.C.S.

Brian is the Founder & C.E.O. of TEST Sports Clubs with multiple locations throughout New Jersey. He is a graduate of Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania with a degree in Exercise Physiology. Brian has been in the sports performance and fitness industry for over fifteen years. He is the former National Sports Performance & Training Director for 75 health clubs along the East coast. Brian is a strength and conditioning specialist with the NSCA, is certified with the American Council on Exercise, and is an active member of The National Football Foundation. Brian specializes in speed development and has worked with many professional athletes from the NFL including 2008 first round quarterback Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens. He is a national consultant & speaker in the areas of sport specific training and health & fitness business development.

Kevin Dunn
COO, Co-Owner

Kevin Dunn is a Rutgers University alumnus and holds a BS in Exercise Science & Psychology. As a captain and MVP of RU's Diving Team, he was awarded Atlantic 10's Diver of the Year in the 1995. You may have even seen him performing in Great Adventure's High Diving Shows over the summers. He holds a number of certifications from nationally accredited commissions such as AFAA, ACE, NSCA, Reebok University, The Arthritis Foundation (PACE), and more! He has worked in situations from hospital based physical therapy settings to athletic training for intercollegiate athletics. He has generated workouts for the world renowned Rockettes!

Based out of Bedminster and Martinsville, Kevin spear headed the training and education as TEST moved into its new facility in Martinsville. He has an incredible eye for detail whether it involves movement training, construction management, or breaking down facility operations. Kevin's desire is to create a family based destination where all of yoyr health & fitness, and sports related needs can be exceeded under one seemlessly integrated state of the art, service oriented home away from home.

Iwona Grabowska
Operations Manager

Iwona is a great addition to the TEST Team with her strong and extensive background in Aerobics and Dance. Iwona graduated from the University of Poland with a degree in Exercise Science. She is an Advanced AAAI Certified Aerobic Specialist and a Certified choreographer. In addition to one-on-one training, Iwona leads several group-training programs here at TEST.

Iwona also has experience in various health fields including physical therapy. In 1999 she sustained an injury to her anterior crusciate ligament in her knee and learned what it takes to come back stronger than ever. She is passionate about health and fitness and enjoys teaching her clients proper exercise techniques in a fun environment. According to her loving clients, she is a tough task master. Iwona enjoys keeping her classes fresh and interesting and is always working on new routines.

Ilze Kaneps
Membership Director

Ilze has been avidly exercising for the last 18 plus years and specializes in body fat reduction and nutrition. In 1999 she competed in the EAS Challenge and finished in the top 7% for her amazing transformation. She is certified by the World Instructor Training School and has been involved in business management for 20 years. Ilze began at TEST as a part-time trainer, but because of her passion about fitness and helping others achieve their goals, she quickly transferred to full-time. She also devotes a lot of her time and energy to managing TEST.

Ilze is an athlete loyal to running and cycling; she also enjoys taking clients on hikes and adventures into the mountains of Chimney Rock. You can always find her training for some competitive event or just maintaining her motivated athleticism. Her high level of energy and contributions to the TEST experience are unlimited!

Skip Fuller
Sports Performance Director

Skip Fuller, the former head strength and conditioning coach for football at Rutgers University joined the TEST TEAM in 2001. Fuller brings his expertise in physical fitness, exercise science and sports nutrition to our center.

Skip is a native of Somerville, NJ where he earned All-County, All-Area, and All-Midstate conference honors. He also played in the annual NJ North-South game before graduating high school in 1985.

An all around athlete highly recruited out of high school, Skip received a full academic/athletic scholarship to West Virginia University. As an ex-Mountaineer, where he played in 3 bowl championships including the National Championship in 1988 against Notre Dame, Skip also earned three letters as a defensive lineman and the highest mountaineer award in 1989.

A physical education and sports management major at WVU, Skip received his B.S. degree in Physical Education and various coaching/sports management certifications in 1990.

Following his graduation from WVU, Skip joined the Rutgers University Football team as a graduate assistant for two years. He then began coaching at Elizabeth High School, joining his former scholastic coach, Jerry Moore, as an assistant line coach and strength coach. He returned to Rutgers in 1993.

Skip brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our club, if you have endurance, a strong commitment, are sports oriented and the desire to train hard, Skip will make sure you achieve your goals.

Eddie Frayne

Eddie Frayne graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1988 with a BS degree in Exercise Science. Eddie played football at Wagner College and Bloomsburg where his career was cut short due to an injury. Eddie completed an internship at Safety Harbor Spa and Fitness Center in Tampa, FL. He worked for 18 years at the Spa at Short Hills and was the Fitness Director there for the last 16 years.

Keith P. Dunn
Membership & Athletic Coordinator

Keith joined the test team in April of 2006. As a former member of the United States Air Force, Keith represented his Country during Operation Desert Storm. During his tour on active duty, Keith performed as a singer and dancer for “Tops in Blue”, a USO type military performing group started and operated by Bob Hope. After an honorary discharge from the USAF in 1997 Keith immediately became a Police Officer for a local department. In 1999 Keith received a position as a Detective for the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office as an active member of the National Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. After a severe injury to his knee, Keith retired from Law Enforcement in 2003. Thanks to being proactively involved in the arrest and prosecution of Internet Sexual Offenders, Keith began speaking on National TV and Radio. Along with being a dedicated member of the TEST family, Keith still has time to appear for speaking engagements and has been seen on many shows like CNN with Paula Zauhn, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, The Montel Williams Show and has worked with the production staff for the Judge Hatchett Show and Maury Povich Show.

Steve Barrasso

Steve is a graduate of Montclair State University. While at Montclair State, Steve was a varsity running back on the football team before incurring a career ending knee injury. During this period in time Steve learned a tremendous amount about rehabilitation and how physical training can enhance the body. Upon graduation, Steve taught Physical Education in the Newark school system before discovering his true passion, personal training.

His hobbies include playing basketball, watching sports, and exercising. He is certified as a personal trainer by the World Instructor Training School. His goal at TEST is to better serve you and your fitness needs through proven rehab and sports training techniques.

Hillarie Scanelli

Hillarie joins TEST as a former National Fitness Competitor (1995 through 1999) where she competed with a number of fitness and bodybuilding organizations -- and received her “Pro Card” from the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation.  Along with being certified in Personal Training, Hillarie is certified in Sports Nutrition and in Lifestyles & Weight Management. Hillarie works as a personal trainer at TEST and also provides our clients with basic nutritional counseling in an effort to promote healthy eating and can also outline a healthy weight loss plan. Our elite athletes rely on Hillarie to provide them with cutting edge sports nutrition information so they learn how to fuel their bodies for optimal performance. Hillarie has given nutritional lectures to individuals, small corporations, schools and sports teams.  Hillarie is also part of TEST’s new program called The Nutrition and Speed Experience.  This two-hour seminar includes a one-hour nutritional lecture followed by an hour of speed training from our most experienced sports trainers. To remain competitive, more and more schools and sports teams are recognizing the need to learn more about “Nutrition and Speed”.   Hillarie is a published fitness writer for Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness Magazine where she had her own column entitled "Fitness Fortitude” and was also a Contributing Editor to “Best Body” Magazine.  She is best known for her articles on nutrition – which is why Hillarie is overseeing our newly-created nutrition bar and pro shop called The Energy Shop.  Here you will be able to have the convenience of picking up quality supplements that will help you reach all your fitness goals.  And Hillarie will be happy to help you choose just the right supplements. Hillarie’s fitness resume also includes experience in teaching a  
variety of fitness classes including step, toning, circuit training, and kickboxing. Aside from spending quality time with her husband (Michael) and two young boys, Hillarie loves to cook and makes time for her own workouts which include weight training, cardio and pilates.

John Stashefski

John began his career in the health and fitness industry after a lengthy career as a computer programmer in the corporate world. He is passionate about his own training, and loves to share that enthusiasm with others. After training many of his friends over the years, John was assured by them that he would do well as a fitness trainer. John took their advice, and is now certified through the National Federation of Professional Trainers (NFPT).

In his leisure time, John enjoys a lot of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, as well as playing baseball and softball. He also enjoys playing his guitar and "training" his two parrots.

Edward Yapczenski
Martinsville & Bedminster

Ed is a Rutgers University alumnus with a B.S. in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. As part of the Sports Medicine Club in college, he worked with athletes in various sports including basketball, football and soccer, Ed has experience working with multiple fitness needs, such as cardiac rehab patients and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitors. His experience also has included a prestigious internship at St. Peters Medical Center helping pre- and postoperative patients with physical fitness and conditioning. Ed has experience training competitors n the sports of contact fighting and submission tournaments. While substitute teaching at the Middle and High School levels, Ed worked with many young athletes in a variety of sports. Ed enjoys attending sporting events, going to Atlantic City and the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Kim Leary
Martinsville & Bedminster

Kim graduated Cum Laude from Liberty University with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Fitness Programming with an emphasis in health promotion. During her time there she was a member of the women's varsity soccer team. She led her team to the program's first Big South Conference Championship and its first NCAA National Tournament appearance. While there, she earned several honors including Big South All-Tournament Team and Big South Presidential Honor Roll.

Kim has recently completed her fourth season as the girl's varsity soccer coach for Timothy Christian School . She made an immediate impact on the school's program and led the team to two consecutive ACSI championships. She is also a head trainer for Victory Soccer Academy and the assistant coach for a u-16 premiere club team in Cranford . She maintains her player status as a member of the women's PARMA semi-professional club team.

Due to her extensive athletic experience, education and certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Kim is a qualified member of the TEST staff. Her energy and positive outlook on life is contagious and she is committed to helping others attain their personal fitness goals and get into the best shape of their life!

Carl Walker

Carl graduated from Shaw University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Recreation. He has been certified as a personal trainer for six years and recently became certified as a sports nutrition specialist both by International Fitness Professional Association (IFPA). Carl has participated in the Buffalo Bills training camp as an Athletic Training intern for two summers where he learned a tremendous amount about sports training, prehabilitation and rehabilitation. Carl also interned with Seton Hall Men's basketball team and Rutgers-Newark Athletic Training Department. Carl has a lot of experience working with high school athletes, as he worked with Plainfield High School and Malcolm X Shabazz High School athletes in various sports. Further, Carl has immense experience in working with athletes that have special needs as he was a Special Olympics and National Disability Sports Alliance coach in numerous sports.

Carl aspires to make workouts enjoyable while making sure the client works at their highest level of energy expenditure as well as burns the maximum amount of calories needed. Carl likes to challenge his clients and really gets satisfaction from watching clients transform. Carl is working toward becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, another certification with which he feels will benefit his clients overall success. In his time-off Carl enjoys camping, traveling, attending sporting events and working out.

Shea Kelly

Shea is a CHEK Exercise Coach, certified by Paul Chek and the CHEK Institute in California. From there he has learned Corrective and High Performance exercise techniques, as well as extensive training in posture, stabilization, and program design.He also graduated from the Somerset School of Massage Therapy as a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT). There his studies were in Anatomy, Physiology, and Kinesiology. Shea is now attending school to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. In his time away from work and school, he loves to workout himself and also loves sports and relaxing with good company. He will work his hardest to make sure you reach your health and fitness goal.

Eric Dorsey

Eric graduated the University of Notre Dame in 1986 with a major in marketing. He was a four year starter in football at defensive end and earned most improved and defensive player of the year as a senior. Eric was all-American and a number one draft pick (19th overall) for the New York Giants. He played on two superbowl teams and was defensive player of the year in 1988. In high school he was a four year letterman in football, wrestling, and track, and earned the honor of being the 29th greatest athlete in history (V.A.), set school records in shot-put and discus, third in state in wrestling, and two time All-American in football.

Laurel Collins

Laurel is a graduate of Rutgers University with a B.A. in Communications. After a long career in the health insurance and managed care field, she became a stay at home mom. It was during this time that she found herself feeling run down, lacking energy, and increasingly unable to keep up with two active boys. Determined to take control of her health and quality of life, she dragged herself off the proverbial couch and rediscovered her childhood love for sports and exercise. She loved it so much she became and ACE certified Personal Trainer. Her ambition is to inspire others to embrace fitness and feel great about themselves mentally and physically. Laurel is fond of saying “If I do this, ANYONE can!” She also discovered that she loves triathlons, and is constantly working to improve her performance. In addition to triathlon training, Laurel enjoys hiking, theatre, singing, ice skating and dance.

Lauren Thatcher

Born and raised in Bound Brook, New Jersey, Lauren’s life has always revolved around sports. In high school, she earned All-County and All-Area honors as the varsity soccer goalkeeper. As team captain and MVP, she also broke her high school’s shut-out record. In winter/spring track she received All-Area, All-Conference, and All-County honors, MVP and team captain which led her to graduating in 2004 as the MVC and NJSIAA Scholar Athlete. She currently attends The College of New Jersey in Ewing and will graduate May 2008 with a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science. Her current certifications include American Red Cross First Aid, Adult/Child/Infant CPR and ACE Certified Personal Trainer. In her free time, she plays in a GSSL Women’s Soccer League, enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and going to the beach. She is looking forward to beginning her personal training career with TEST and using her education and passion to help motivate all others to attain their own fitness goals.

David Hooper, CSCS.

Dave is a graduate of the University of the West of England, graduating his BSc in Sports Conditioning and Coaching with first class honors, the highest class achievable from UK universities. Dave is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as a certified Sports Performance Coach by USA Weightlifting. Dave worked as a trainer in the UK for 4 years before meeting his future wife, Stephanie while working for the summer as a sports coach in New Jersey. Two years later, once his degree had been completed Dave moved to New Jersey full time and he and Stephanie married in the summer of 2007.

His ambition is to have a successful career in strength and conditioning, working with world class athletes for a major franchise, hopefully in the NFL or MLB.

Dave Strunk

A 2004 graduate From Montclair State University, David has been a life long competitor.  He grew up playing on select traveling soccer programs across South Eastern Pennsylvania, learning how commitment and dedication kept you on the winning edge.  Success carried over into high school, where David was a part of championship programs in soccer, basketball, and baseball.  A family tradition propelled David into military service where his drive and commitment demanded recognition upon completion from training. Entering college David took on the challenge of learning Lacrosse.  With hard work he became a starter at midfield his sophomore year.  As a senior, he helped lead his team to their best record in 15 years, to go with its first ECAC championship in ten years.  He hopes as a trainer he can pass along his Drive, Discipline and Dedication, to show that any goal is only a commitment away.
